I’d had Samuel Adams before, out of bottles, and can’t say I was overwhelmed, but just the other day I had it on draft for the first time. And oh. My.
Admittedly I’d just come off a transatlantic flight, and I was GASPING, but surely my judgement is of a stronger constitution than that. Anyway, it’s a crisp, flavoursome pint, dark in colour and it might be my new favourite draught beer.
I’m getting a bit of a taste for these American ales. I was drinking Anchor Steam and Sierra Nevada when I was out in SFO, and they’re not too shabby either.
