Los Campesinos!

So some time last summer I stumbled across a song on an mp3 blog somewhere (I don’t remember which one). It was called You! Me! Dancing! and I listened to it, and it was great.
I put the song onto a bunch of mix CDs, but the breakthrough moment was the CD (“It’s Got To Be Perth-Fect”) that went with me to Australia for Xmas and New Year 2006. Long road trips = listening to music = falling in love with great songs = falling in love with You! Me! Dancing! And not just me – my friends too. As soon as we got back it was all “Who sings that song? You have to give it to me!”
And this is a great song, and Los Campesinos! are a great band. They’re a bunch of youngsters from Cardiff University – in fact, they’re doing their finals right now! – and I saw them at Scala last night. High on youth and energy, they have shouty bits and singy bits and boy-girl bits and BEATS and irresistible guitar riffs and quiet bits and loud bits and glockenspiels and violins and smiles and look, just listen to them. They have lots of songs on their myspace (link below) and they’ve just released You! Me! Dancing! as a single.
